Changing Live Scale or Tonic is remembered on the RND and changes which engines a seed produces — so results won’t match Search (Search always assumes unlocked). Power-cycle the RND to clear locks, then Send again without touching Scale/Tonic.

Getting started

Plug the RND into this computer over USB.
Open the page in Chrome or Edge (Web MIDI + SysEx).
Click Connect in the top bar and allow MIDI access.

Search and the library run entirely in your browser. Nothing is uploaded to a server.

Seeds

Every patch is a 32-bit seed (shown as hex, e.g. 0x5bc2e5a1). The same value also appears as a 3-word phrase — you can type or copy either form.

Search

Set filters (engine, scale, tempo, play style, track count…), then Search. Hits are scanned locally with Web Workers. Continue picks up after the last range; Hide already rated keeps liked/disliked seeds out of the list.

From a hit: Send loads it on the RND; heart / thumbs-down rates it into the library.

Keyboard (Search)

When focus is not in a text field:

J / ↓: Next hit and send
K / ↑: Previous hit and send
Space: Re-send current seed
L: Like (keep)
D: Dislike (pass) and advance

Device

Load a seed by hex or phrase, then Send. Read asks the RND what’s playing; Watch polls for changes.

Live controls (scale, tonic, volume, reverb) shape the running sound. Changing Scale or Tonic can lock those choices on the hardware — Search always assumes unlocked, so predictions may diverge. Power-cycle the RND to clear locks.

Reverb applies on the RND’s stereo mix out only. The 4-channel USB audio stems stay dry — audition reverb on headphones / analog mix.

Library

Hearts and thumbs-down live in this browser (localStorage). Add notes, filter Liked / Disliked / All, and Export / Import JSON backups.

If you tweak scale, root, or volume before liking, the card keeps Orig (seed only) and Modif (seed + that mix). Tempo is shown from the seed but isn’t set over MIDI.
